So far August really has been the month of rumors leaks and releases in the Android world.
We have seen a number of sources revealing upcoming releases and device-launches set for September. However today, we are hearing seriously scary reports that Motorola are set to release EIGHT devices before Christmas. Yes folks, Motorola are about to get extremely serious in terms of the market releasing no less than eight devices over the next few months.
According to TKTechNews an unnamed source has verified Motorola’s high expectations by confirming all the releases. For those of you interested the expected devices include Motorola Droid, Droid Maxx, Droid Turbo, Moto S, Moto G, Moto X+1, Moto X Play and of course Shamu.
If these rumors are true than we certainly are looking at a big move from Motorola who seem confident that they can establish so many devices in such a small time-frame. At the moment the details of all the devices are limited with no clear indication of whether these will be released worldwide or select regions will receive select devices. Rumors are highly suggesting the DROID range will again be picked up by Verizon only. It is already safe to assume the Moto G and Moto X+1 will be upgrades from the current Motorola G and X devices.
However the most interesting and highly anticipated release is that of Shamu which currently is highly expected to be the next Nexus device. This has not been confirmed either by Google or Motorola however after leaked specs and speculation it is expected Shamu will be the Nexus 6.
On top of the eight devices due to be released it is also worth remembering Motorola are only weeks away from releasing the Moto 360 which is also highly becoming one of the most sought after devices of the year.
We recently reported Motorola has sent out invites to their September launch event which is entitled “Moto Launch Experience”. With today’s news of at least eight smartphones and a smartwatch the Experience element is starting to become clear. It is very possible Motorola may decide to mass flood the market on September 4th by releasing all the devices simultaneously. This certainly would be a big and bold move. Either way there is only two weeks left until all becomes clear.
So what do you think? Are Motorola over-reaching? Eight devices, Shamu (Nexus 6), Moto 360? Is this all too much or are you looking forward to a Motorola flooding of the market?
Which device do you want most?
